Overview:  This trip is appealing to skiers and non-skiers.  Baqueria-Beret Ski Resort, located in the Pyrenees, is divided into 4 areas: Baqueira, Beret, Bonaigua, and Baciver, each of them unique and all connected by slopes and ski lifts.  Its size is larger than Vail. 

   The prestigious 5-star Grand Luxury Hotel Val de Neu is just 50 meters away from the lifts, yet conveniently located next to the new shopping gallery.  It features exquisite gastronomy as well as amenities and services expected in a luxurious 5-star hotel. 

   Non skiers will find the Val de Neu easily accessible for local activities (dog sledding with or without lunch, snowmobiling with or without lunch, snowshoeing, spa treatments and more) or to participate in the optional daily excursions being offered (town of Vielha; day tour to Luchon, France; wine tour).

   Then it’s off to Barcelona for 3 nights, staying at 4-star Avenida Palace Hotel, conveniently located within walking distance to the famous Las Rambla and the city market.  Plan to have dinner on your own at one of the many nearby restaurants or tapas bars.  A half-day tour with a local guide will provide an overview of places you may want to revisit during the full day on your own.  Recommendations for bookings with Viator will be provided.

   Then we are off to explore two of Portugal’s very popular cities, Porto (the major commercial center of the industrious northern region) and Lisbon (the nation’s capital).  Exceptional hotels in each city are conveniently located to find local attractions and dining spots for dinner.  Breakfast is included at all hotels.  Guided tours in both cities will familiarize members with places chosen to explore on their own.  Recommendations for making reservations at local attractions will be provided.

TRIP AVAILABILITY WITHOUT THE PORTUGAL EXTENSION:

TRIP WITHOUT AIR TO BARCELONA OR HOME FROM LISBON:

Deduct $1355 from the above costs.  Advance approval required.
